Spirituality and Stress

Catherine Groves

Catherine Groves explores the impact of spirituality on stress. "Do religion and spirituality hinder or help us deal with stress?" Groves also suggests that the "heightened stress" some of us feel these days might be due to an "infrastructural shift"— one that we can know "only because of anomalies,... with a cohesive and structured form, that intrude upon our conventional ways of perception."

A Blast from
Our Past

Fields Unknown: A Thought Experiment in Extraterrestrial Evangelism

Robert M. Price

And for something upbeat and fun, our featured reprint is Robert M. Price's "Fields Unknown: A Thought Experiment in Extraterrestrial Evangelism," which hails from our July-September 1993 issue. Price shares, "A surprising range of theologians — fundamentalists, mainstream liberal, and many shades between — have dealt with one aspect or another of the issue.... Even as a purely theoretical inquiry it has surprising relevance, suggesting new perspectives from which to view old questions."

The Letters Library

C*NAQ readers speak out

Our "Letters Library" this time around is particularly varied and deep. We hear from Cher Gilmore of Share International USA about her thoughts on what humanity's imminent future could hold. Jason Rodgers, Rev. David Brock, Wendell E. Wilkinson and Arthur C. Ford, Sr., of The Poet Band Company, offer feedback and insight to this issue's readers.
